Although not always a fan of floral images in black and white, I do like them when the flower has a strong structure, and so this particular shot seemed to lend itself well to the format.

This was reproduced on a large canvas and worked very well with that. I’ve been using canvas quite a bit of late for images destined for exhibitions. At first I wasn’t a big fan, but if you print them large, shots like this can have a great deal more impact, and so for those who have yet to try canvas, I would suggest considering it. It’s expensive in terms of initial outlay, but I’ve found that expense more than offset by the attention the images have garnered and the number of them that have sold.

This was taken in doors using available light (window light) to maximize the texture and shapes.
